Attempting to Do Week In the Life Project by Ali Edwards July 28, 2011

Good Evening.  How is everyone’s week going?  I am trying to stretch myself a bit this week.  As you can tell by my blog and posts, I am an avid stamper and card maker.  So, this week I decided to participate in Ali Edwards 2011 Week In the Life project along with two of my girlfriends.  It’s been interesting trying to think about this project and plan it out as I really don’t scrapbook at all.

I’m laughing as I write this post, because while it’s fun, it’s been hard to 1) remember to take pictures of everyday things and 2) take pictures at work but I managed to get a couple.  Really thankful for my smart phone with a great camera.  I’m also trying to record different things that are happening this week in different ways.

Earlier this week, I took Tuesday afternoon off and met my close friend for lunch down the Cape and then we went shopping.   It was a perfect summer afternoon and it was so nice to take an afternoon off in the middle of the week, I highly recommend it.  We had so much fun, that afterwards, I realized that I didn’t think to take one picture.  Oh well.  I couldn’t take a picture of the Sagamore Bridge as there was nowhere to really pull over but I did remember to get a copy of the lunch menu from the restaurant where we had lunch and took a few pictures that night.  I’m lucky if I think to take 10 pictures.  Since this is my first try at this project, I’m sure I will get better at it.  I may continue into next week, just for fun and see if I do better.

In true Ali generosity, once again she has amazing giveaways.  So, I encourage you to go to Ali’s blog post Week In the Life 2011 Really Awesome Giveaways  and visit and leave a comment on her post, learn more about the project  and perhaps win a really awesome give away.

So, what are you doing to stretch yourself creatively this week?  Are you doing Ali’s Week In The Life project?  Leave a comment and let me know how you stretched yourself creatively this week.  Happy Friday.

A Muse Studio June Spotlight July 12, 2011

I hope that everyone is surviving this heat.  Here in New England, second day of 90 plus degrees.  Thank goodness for air conditioned offices.  Wasn’t it just a few months ago we were talking about how cold it was and couldn’t wait for the heat?

There are only a few more days left for the June A Muse Studio Spotlight where you can save 10% off certain stamp sets.  There is also a complimentary set of assorted paper pack.  Here are a couple of ideas the A Muse Studio team came up with using the stamp sets featured in the June Spotlight.

Love the Sea Shell set and the Life’s A Breeze is perfect for summer time.

What about the Mad for Plaids set?  Great idea to stamp paper and wrap up Hershey’s miniatures and tie with some ribbon or twine.  Perfect idea for a favor for a bridal shower or summer birthday party?

Check out my web shop for details.  Check back this weekend for our July Spotlight.  Happy creating and stay cool.

What’s your Favorite Flavor of Ice Cream? July 10, 2011

Who doesn’t love ice cream, especially in the summer time?  What’s your favorite flavor?  My favorite is vanilla with jimmies (sprinkles) or chocolate chip.  You have to have the jimmies, which just adds fun to your ice cream.  Just like the amazing A Muse Studio diamond glitter adds fun to this quick card I made for my June A Muse Studio workshop.

I used the What’s the Scoop  exclusive A Muse Studio stamp set.  I started with A Muse Studio sugar cardstock in an A2 size  (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) as my base and then stamped the ice cream cone three times on a square of sugar cardstock using  A Muse Studio French Roast ink, zapped it with a heat gun to set the ink, colored them with Copic markers (your favorite pink, yellow and green shades – but you can use whatever colors you love) and then using my Quickie glue stick, added the most amazing A Muse Diamond glitter to the top of the cones.  Love this glitter, but ask my friends, I love glitter when creating cards and think of it as the jimmies on my ice cream.  I then used foam mounting tape and poped up the ice cream cones to A Muse Studio grass cardstock and adhered to the sugar cardstock base card.  So, how quick and fun is this card to make?  All products used on this card are from A Muse Studio and you can check out my web site for more details and to find the products.

So, what is your favorite flavor of ice cream?  Happy summer and enjoy your ice cream and don’t forget the jimmies.
